PALO ALTO, May 17, (1930) (AP)---
Frank Wykoff University of Southern California flash, today evened
up the score in his personal duel with Hec Dyer, Stanford speedster,
by defeating Dyer in the 100-yard dash here today in the California
intercollegiate. The time was nine and seven tenths.
Wykoff was behind at the start with Dyer flashing out of his holes
with the gun. But it did not take the Troy entry long to catch
the flying Cardinal. He passed him at the half way mark and
romped in with a yard and a half to spare. (Milton) Mauer of Southern
California was third with Howell of Stanford fourth.
