  Paddock Brings Out

'Winning Shoes' for Olympics

newspaper photo - "Paddock Brings Out 'Winning Shoes' for Olympics' - dated 7-15-28

Reprint of (?) newspaper dated Friday, June 15, 1928

Above are the "big four" of the "race of the century," to be run in the Olympic finals at the Coliseum tomorrow.  The victor will be America's hope in the Olympic games at Amsterdam.  Below is Jack Dempsey (not pictured), who will box exhibition bouts on the great athletic program.

Pictured from right to left in order of popular favoritism to win are, Charles Paddock, defending his title as "fastest human;" Charlie Borah, S. C. sprint marvel; Frank Wykoff, Glendale's pride and joy, and Frank Lombardi, Los Angeles high school's meteoric star.
