"Beautiful arm
action is being shown by Wykoff. Note the position of Metcalfe's left
foot. By keeping the foot low it is in a better position for the following
stride than is Wykoff's. Parsons' left leg is too high."

12 - RUNNERS SHOW
STRONG DRIVE

"All the runners show strong drive
and follow through on the toes of their right feet. Note that Metcalfe's left
leg is now even with Wykoff's and that both their left legs are forming a
perfect right angle. Parsons is getting beautiful arm action, but his elbow
should be closer in to his body. By counting the boards (taking perspective in
consideration) you will see that Wykoff has about a four inch advantage over
Metcalfe, and Metcalfe is about two inches ahead of Parsons (6 inch boards)."

"The position of all the runners are now approximately the same as
Parsons is rapidly recovering his form. Wykoff is getting the benefit of a
better arm drive as his arm position is a little ahead of the other two
runners."

14 - METCALFE & WYKOFF
GAIN ON PARSONS

Photo #14
"Both Metcalfe and Wykoff have gained slightly on Parsons in position
perhaps due to Parsons' longer stride. This is possible because it is easier to
start his lighter weight. Metcalfe's gain on Wykoff for position is for the same
reason. Wykoff's rear foot is again a bit too high and that displayed by
Metcalfe is preferable."

"The form of all runners is good. Wykoff seems to be getting the most out
of his arms, while Metcalfe's leg position is excellent,
knee being well in and foot low to the ground."
