"Both Metcalfe and Wykoff are running smoothly while Parsons is throwing
his left shoulder forward. The arms can also be used effectively in changing
gradually into a longer, more powerful stride. The arms can be dropped in
proportion to the added stride length, then can be brought up again to their
normal position thereby giving the legs faster reaction.
Notice Metcalfe's long stride."

"Notice the perfect drive, knee action and right arm action of Metcalfe.
Note the position of Wykoff's left ankle and the position it has taken from the
preceding picture. He has perfect form and is getting beautiful knee action and
follow through from the left leg. Parsons' form is also good. The circular
motion of the foot in a stride is shown by plotting in the feet in this
picture."

"Notice the bound of Wykoff and the beautiful arm action Parsons is
getting a nice stretch. Wykoff is at the height of his bound and is now
thrusting his right foot down. When it hits the ground Wykoff will then pull
back on the foot momentarily before pushing to get
drive before it leaves the ground. Notice Metcalfe's general
relaxation. Parsons is at the height of his bound."

"Metcalfe has good form here. Notice the open hand, body angle, position
of right leg and left ankle. Note the difference in foot position of Wykoff and
Parsons. Wykoff has his toe pointed ready to grasp
the ground in the next picture. Parsons is twisting his body and
throwing his shoulders forward. The hips are supple and have a circular motion.
The illustration of Wykoff shows this by drawing in the path the point of the
hip takes in a full stride. Movement is Clockwise."
