The Concept of the Olympic Village that debuted in California during the 1932 Olympics was adopted as the solution to housing athletes competing in the 1936 Olympics held in Berlin.  The page includes photographs of members of the USA Olympic team outside of their cabins, and singing folk songs in the evening.  Also included is a reprint of the layout of Olympic Village according to participating nations.

OLYMPIC VILLAGE - BERLIN

Prior to the 100 Meter Race that Wykoff and Owens would both compete in, Wykoff was asked who he believed would win the 100 Meter race -- and Wykoff remarked ..."Jesse Owens" -- but he planned to come in 2nd.

Frank Wykoff, center, is surrounded by his Olympic friends outside of  his assigned cottage at Olympic Village in Berlin 1936.
